Year 2 Day 62

Valley Humane Society on Animal Planet (MB)
Our little animal shelter was on Animal Planet/Animal Hoarding.
They assisted in helping a dog owner accept that excessive pets
would be cared for if surrendered. It was sad to see the situation.
The owner was not eating in order to feed the dogs. All except
one pet was adopted from the shelter. See July 27 blog entry,
they can always use donations to keep their public programs active.

Year 2 Day 56

Funny thing happened at a Memorial Service! (MB)
Imagine this: A dignified memorial Mass for a departed friend. Her ashes were
present, all of her friends and also a Bishop-friend of the deceased as the presider.
Communion is over, a eulogy is being given. All of the sudden the firealarms start ringing,
including flashing strobe lights. The immediate reaction of everything? Laughter! Squeals
of delight. That is was probably the deceased because she really loved to have the last laugh!
Anyway, everyone did evacuate quickly including the patients in the assisted living area;
Santa Clara's Finest came and checked everything out, reset the alarm and we all trooped
back in to the chapel to finish the service with "When The Saints Go Marching In." I'll bet
she loved her send-off! Cause? The burning incense was too close to the smoke detector.

OK, FYI: This is not culturally Un PC. I am a Proud
Polack from Pittsburgh. Went grocery shopping;
thirsty for Pete's Mocha Freddo; have small older
car with no cup holder and can't drive one-handed
holding coffee. Voila! Eureka! No brain freeze here!
Yes, it's cat food cans. Full ones, just purchased.

Photo club meeting tonight means blog photo ops perhaps! (MB)
A Starbucks coffee and chocolate chunk cookie reward...favorite frame shop
still has Giants stuff in window. However, got to the meeting and one of the
new members (mid 40s to 50 ish) is a skate boarder! Says he competes in
"long board competitions." I say that someone is in very good shape! Go, guy!
