Funny thing happened at a Memorial Service! (MB)
Imagine this: A dignified memorial Mass for a departed friend. Her ashes were
present, all of her friends and also a Bishop-friend of the deceased as the presider.
Communion is over, a eulogy is being given. All of the sudden the firealarms start ringing,
including flashing strobe lights. The immediate reaction of everything? Laughter! Squeals
of delight. That is was probably the deceased because she really loved to have the last laugh!
Anyway, everyone did evacuate quickly including the patients in the assisted living area;
Santa Clara's Finest came and checked everything out, reset the alarm and we all trooped
back in to the chapel to finish the service with "When The Saints Go Marching In." I'll bet
she loved her send-off! Cause? The burning incense was too close to the smoke detector.
